A retail and office building located along Marina View at Marina Bay, Singapore, Asia Square is notably named not only because of its towers’ shape, but also because of the public arena at its base called “The Cube” – a European-inspired urban form adapted to Singapore’s context.
Designed by Denton Corker Marshall (DCM) and Architects 61 with ALT working as the façade consultant, methods from the construction of the first tower were applied in the second, particularly in the efficiency of detailing between the slab edge and the façade. The result is a unique “city room” that perfectly encapsulates Singapore’s increasing modernity while also keeping natural elements integrated within its buildings.
