A recognizable landmark and a new urban experience in the heart of China’s capital, Beijing Huadu Center, offers a mixed-use component overlooking Liangmahe River. Developed by Beijing Huadu Hotel Co., Ltd., the development consists of two office towers, a hotel and serviced apartment building with a retail podium, and an art gallery.
With ALT working as the facade consultant, the towers adopted a unitized system with rain-screen pressure equalized principle. The two office buildings outlined segmented and inclined glass walls with folded façade elements at the corner, emphasizing the vertical expression through its vertical fins. Further, the hotel and service apartment features glass walls with a combination of stone and aluminum frameworks. Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates and China Architecture Design & Research Institute designed the master plan community and created flexible spaces fostering a balance of commerce and culture.
